If the gums collapse,
it is difficult to recover!
Gum Treatment | Gum Grafting

Gum disease is so common that more than 80% of adults have symptoms.

Although most think of gum disease as something you can simply watch, it should be treated as soon as it is detected even before symptoms appear. Most often, if gum disease is left untreated, it will directly lead to loss of teeth. In addition, gum disease has been shown to be linked to cardio-vascular diseases.

Symptoms of Gum Disease

Bleeding and Pain: When you eat or brush your teeth, you may get excessive bleeding or pain from your gums.

Bad Breath: Plaque built up underneath the gums can lead to bad breath.

Gum Recession: Your gums may begin to disappear, making it difficult to cover and support the teeth by loss of gums and bones.

Mobile Teeth: Inflammation (gingivitis or periodontitis) can weaken the gums and bone underneath, causing teeth to move.

Treatment of Gum Disease

Step1.
Scaling and root planing (SRP)
This is the first and most important step in all gum treatment. Plaque and tartar from teeth and root surfaces should be removed and then the surfaces should be smoothed to prevent further build up. Anesthesia may be given depending on the pain.

Step2.
Re-evaluation
Another exam is performed 6-8 weeks after SRP to evaluate the conditions of the gums. This will help determine whether gum surgery is needed, another SRP is recommended, or oral hygiene needs to be strengthened.

Step3.
Gum Surgery
Tartar and plaque that could not be removed by regular SRP may need to be surgically removed under anesthesia. Gums may need to be flapped opened in order to gain access to hidden deep plaque build up.

Cavity Treatment
Root Canal Treatment (Endodontics)
Early detection and treatment are key to cavity treatment.

Tooth decay is when bacteria eat away at your teeth. These bacteria eat sugar from the mouth and create acid that dissolves tooth enamel. They usually begin in the fine grooves of your teeth and if left untreated, can create a large hole in your teeth.

How To Treat Tooth Decay

Conservative Therapy
(Resin Filling)
Resin restorations are white and look as natural as teeth after treatment. Decay is removed and resin is placed to fill up the removed tooth structure.
decay-t2
Crown Treatment
If the cavity is very extensive or if you’ve had a root canal, a crown is recommended in order to prevent fracture and reinfection. Usually a white zirconia crown material is used.
decay-t3
Endodontic Treatment
(Root Canal)
If the cavity is in the nerve, or if the nerve has been infected by the bacteria, the infected nerve must be removed with a root canal therapy.
Wisdom Tooth Extraction | Minor Oral Surgery

Difficulty of extraction depends on the location and angulation of the tooth and the location of the nerve in relation to the wisdom tooth. A CBCT( Cone- beam CT Scan) may be taken in advance to properly prepare for surgery.
